1 /5 Millie Clarke: I had an absolutely horrific experience at Elan Jewellers in St Ives. I took in my 4 stone garnet ring because one of the claws had risen, and I asked them to push it down and check the others. When I got home, I found one claw completely snapped and another already back up, despite having only worn it home. I was told AFTER the fact that issues like this can happen. That is something that absolutely should be disclosed BEFORE, and they should have made me aware of their mistake upon pick up, and not have left me to find it on my own. They did not own up to their mistake. When my mother and I returned Tuesday, we were met with defensiveness and aggression straight away. It was incredibly confrontational, and not a single apology was offered. I had to leave because it was so uncomfortable. I also asked them to clean my 5 other rings, but 2 were returned dirty, which they should have checked before handing them back. After two visits, I still received no apology or solution. Save yourself the trouble—DO NOT GO HERE.

5 /5 Julia: My dream ring!! What an absolutely amazing experience I had at Elan jewellers. So professional and took the time to chat through different options when it came to my engagement ring. The craftsmanship, the quality and price is outstanding. I would recommend Elan to all my family and friends and anyone else looking for an outstanding jewellery shop.

It was only after your failure to apologise, and not accept any responsibility for your shoddy work that we said we would leave a negative review…telling the truth! It wasn’t a threat, that is what reviews are for. You are correct; this wasn’t part of the original repair, as when she took it to you, it wasn’t broken. We only returned asking you to fix your mistake. It was unprofessional that she wasn’t informed about the ring being broken at the time of pickup.
