1 /5 zoë Johnson: ⭐️ 1/5 I had high hopes for Burnt Orange because Google and their website make it seem like an upscale, beautiful café experience. Naturally, that sets your expectations — but the reality was really disappointing. Firstly, the parking situation is terrible. You have to walk quite a distance and it’s paid parking ($4/hour), which already starts the experience on the wrong note. I had booked a table for 2 and specifically hoped for a balcony/view seating — which is honestly the whole point of coming here. Instead, we were given a table far away. When we politely asked to move (and we arrived on time), the staff said the balcony tables were fully booked. However… those same tables remained completely empty the entire 2 hours we were there. It felt dismissive and unnecessarily inflexible. And for a place that markets itself as “upscale,” I was honestly shocked that they use thin, cheap paper napkins — not even cloth. Small detail, but it really shows the overall lack of care and quality. Overall, the experience felt overhyped, overpriced, and underwhelming. Definitely not worth returning, especially when there are so many truly lovely cafés in Sydney that actually match the standard they advertise.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting—bright, calm, and just the right balance of lively without feeling rushed. Service was genuinely friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, perfect for enjoying slowly while taking in the scenery. A great place to linger over breakfast, soak up the view, and leave feeling refreshed and well looked after.

5 /5 Arthit Sawangchom: I visited Burnt Orange Mosman today to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed by Scarlet, who greeted us with a genuine smile and guided us to one of the best tables overlooking the beautiful water view — a perfect start to our lunch. Tom looked after us throughout the meal with friendly professionalism and a kind smile, making us feel truly cared for. We began with Seared Scallops and Tuna Tataki for our entrées. The scallops were the highlight of the day — perfectly cooked, with a lovely balance of flavours and just the right touch of spice from the nduja. The Tuna Tataki was equally impressive, fresh and vibrant with a delightful combination of mango, yuzu, miso, and crisp crackers — a perfect dish for spring. For our mains, we enjoyed the Wagyu Picanha and Fettuccine with King Prawns. Both dishes were beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, showing the chef’s great attention to detail and care in every element on the plate. Dessert was a thoughtful surprise — a plate with a birthday message and candle, adding a lovely personal touch. We had the French Chocolate Cake and Mango Panna Cotta, which featured palm sugar tapioca and mango sorbet. The combination was light, refreshing, and full of flavour — a beautiful way to finish the meal. We also enjoyed a Passionfruit Margarita and a mocktail recommended by Sunny, both of which paired wonderfully with our dishes. Thank you, Burnt Orange, for making our birthday celebration so special. The stunning view, warm service, and excellent food made it a truly memorable experience. We will definitely be back.

5 /5 Rooster: Phenomenal experience at breakfast. Hotcake, corn fritters, big brekky - there’s not a dull moment. Been coming here for years and not once let down - breakfast, lunch or dinner.
