Avondale Dam - Turramurra (NSW)

Veronica McConachy A wonderful walk, lots of birdlife and stunning walks. There are many tracks to wander along, from big gums to rainforest tracks that meandering alongside of a stream. Keep your eye out for the black cockatoo, kookaburras and there is an owl that nests there also. Definitely worth your time.

Immerse yourself in unspoilt bushland within Dalrymple-Hay Nature Reserve by taking advantage of its short and easy walking track. Just 30 minutes north of the CBD, it’s ideal for birdwatching enthusiasts, nature-lovers and botanists, and is a great walk for kids. You’ll enter a forest of majestic blue gums and magnificent blackbutts that hark back to pre-colonial times with a lush understorey of ferns. Following the clearly signposted path, the kids will enjoy the self-guided series of interpretation signs. In the spring, the ground cover of native flowers, such as the blue flax lily and pastel flower, burst into a colourful display. Any time of year, you’ll hear the chatter of birds such as rainbow lorikeets, crimson rosellas and king parrots echoing through the bush

T Slush Nice neighborhood park with tennis courts, playground and picnic tables. An historic cottage offers takeaway coffee and pastries, and a very prominent French restaurant, Sous Le Soleil. Impressive to say the least.

Bill L Very nice area with a standard size of football playground and other facilities, including BBQ, basketball, tennis court and public toilet. Nice and quiet, you can park your car on the Bromborough Rd without time limit and people live in this street are quite nice and friendly. Close to Roseville station (15 mins walk).

Bradley Flick Excellent local park, dog exercising allowed in morning and afternoon. Currently oval is being resurfaced & is closed. Due to reopen April 2022

Cameron and Adriana Hardy Park in Ryde is a great little park not too far from Top Ryde Shopping Centre. There are swings, climbing equipment and sandstone rocks surround it that make for a good game of ‘the floor is lava’. The dinosaur theme is cool and the sand pit has dinosaur bones the kids can dig for.

Josh Makarenko Great park, excellent facilities, cricket nets are in great condition, oval is nice and big and well maintained. Baseball diamond is in good nick. Lots of covered spaces to stay out of the elements. Toilets are clean and comfortable and always stocked. Good little playground with a sun shade over the monkey bars.
