5 /5 Marita: Nice trail, with views throughout the last third, to a beautiful look-out. Path is well worn and the walk mostly shady through gum forests. From the start of the trail there is only a modest altitude changes. There is a bit of a rock scramble towards the end but it’s suitable for young kids (4yo up). On a humid, sunny 25C Summer’s Day there were incredible numbers of mosquitos for most of the trail. Recommend sunscreen and mozzie repellent. Also recommend you bring water.
If approaching the start of the trail from the ferry wharf, you’ll be walking along the street (leaving off to your left) and then heading up a narrow path between two houses marked Lobster’s Beach. This walk is steep. As you reach a cross roads at the end of the paved path, Lobster’s Beach is straight ahead (up stairs) and the Box Head trail is to the left.
