5 /5 Kim Gatenby: This walk is a must do. It took us 2 hours and 50 minutes, but I did the walk with a 3 year old and a disabled 70 year old, and we did the extra detour to Kylies Hut. The road to drive there is best suited to 4WD as its dirt, but other cars could cope if going slow. We parked at Diamond Head Campground so that also added a little extra to the walk (worth it for the helpful staff and beach access). It could be done as a quicker loop from the other campground.
The path does have some slightly steep sections but was manageable. It was extremely windy the day we went, so the area closest to the cliff edge was a bit dangerous (not suitable for kids in that weather, I had to carry mine through that section). The path is small rocks. In dry weather it was easy to walk on.
Came across kangaroos on the path which was a cute surprise. The views are spectacular. The plant life is dry scrub so theres not much shade (hat, sunscreen and water necessary). There are tonnes of flowers in Spring. Such a beautiful example of native flora thriving in harsh conditions. Enjoy the walk, its truly wonderful.
