4 /5 Alfiya Niko: I visited for the first time based on a recommendation from Eleanor Pendleton. Paloma herself isn’t taking new clients at the moment, so I booked with Pauline. The salon’s style and atmosphere were quite different from what I expected after seeing their Instagram—it has a very different vibe: simpler, noisier, and less refined.
My appointment started with the lovely Lotte, and the complimentary massage and hair wash were a thoughtful touch. Paulines work was quick and professional as well—she listened to my wishes and made a few interesting suggestions. All of my questions were answered, and she recommended some new products, I liked it. However, I think I need more time to decide how I feel about my new haircut, as I’m still unsure.
I did feel a bit rushed throughout the whole experience, as if I were on a conveyor belt, it’s a busy place. There was a lot of upselling, which I understand as part of any business focused on making money — that’s reasonable. However, it felt like something was missing. It’s the indirect actions that make a client feel truly cared for, creating a pleasant experience where every person feels special and valued, warms.
