3 /5 So M: An authentic and spacious Chinese restaurant inside the Epping Club. We came here for Yum Cha. The dishes were a hit and miss. The prawn dumplings and shumai were large and tasted fresh. The taro puff though was bland and taro were a bit thin. The steam noodles was too thick and lacked some of the usual condiments (spring onion/dried prawns/sauces/sesame seeds) compared to other restaurants. I recommend the steamed Chinese sponge cake. Unfortunately, other than the stir fried turnip cake, all the dishes came were only like warm and not hot enough. Service wise, its also mixed. Staff did not know how to arrange the tables and physically moved my phone without consent and demanded that I put in the pocket because the table was full. He also decided not to listen to any feedback. This is a shame, as those in the bar and reception were more friendly. Pricing wise, its a little high but you can get 5% off if you join to be a club member. Overall, this is a nice addition to the area.
