River Cares I am so happy this restaurant is still operating. Great friendly efficient service, the staff make you feel so welcome, and the food is good old fashion honest hearty delicious and generous. I love this restaurant because you know the food is top quality, you are always well looked after by the staff and you never leave disappointed. The desserts are to die for but thats only if you have any room left as the main meals are always very generous. I can recommend the stuffed zucchini flowers, the seafood marinara followed by the exquisite tiramisu.

ek Servers are very hardworking and very friendly, food came out very fast and tasted amazing in terms of taste and quality. Prices are all very good, they have weekday special. They do however have a 50c surcharge that they are very honest/up front about so best to bring cash! :)

Alice Yan Nice Cafe unassuming on the outside but packed on a Sat morning. Lovely cuppa with mushroom, kale and egg toast and we had a scone to go with it. Would probably ask for more jam and cream next time to go with the oversized scone! Overall enjoyed the vibe, coffee and food.

Biswa Khatri I ordered a boiled fish with sour vegetables. It was huge enough for 4 people. Delicious. Definitely will come back again

Scott Borcherdt I had a great experience dining at Hukuya tonight with my wife and 22 month old daughter. The service was excellent - friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy and were very accommodating of our little one. We ordered sushi, sashimi and a few sides. Everything was delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. Our daughter loved the hosomaki. Well definitely be back. BYO available, $3pp corkage.

The quality of the meat is absolutely top-tier. ​What I loved: ​The Beef: We ordered several different cuts (as you can see in the photos), and every single plate was incredibly fresh, vibrant, and hand-sliced to perfection. The marbling on the premium cuts was beautiful, and it melts in your mouth after just a few seconds in the broth. ​Shrimp Paste: The handmade shrimp paste served in bamboo tubes was a highlight—super bouncy and packed with fresh flavor. ​Authenticity: From the specialized cuts of beef to the traditional condiments, it truly captures the essence of Chaoshan cuisine. ​Service & Atmosphere: The staff was attentive, and the setup is clean and modern. Ellen H What a hidden gem! My husband and I came here for the first time on Friday night and were blown away. Real traditional Cantonese food — fresh, flavourful, and so much better than most places in Eastwood, Chatswood, or Rhodes. The place is super clean with that nostalgic old-school Hong Kong vibe, and the owner and staff were lovely and welcoming. We had the braised pork belly, Yangzhou fried rice, pepper beef, salt & pepper turbot, and mushrooms with lettuce — every dish was spot on. Can’t wait to come back
