Ocean harvest - NSW

Ellen H What a hidden gem! My husband and I came here for the first time on Friday night and were blown away. Real traditional Cantonese food — fresh, flavourful, and so much better than most places in Eastwood, Chatswood, or Rhodes. The place is super clean with that nostalgic old-school Hong Kong vibe, and the owner and staff were lovely and welcoming. We had the braised pork belly, Yangzhou fried rice, pepper beef, salt & pepper turbot, and mushrooms with lettuce — every dish was spot on. Can’t wait to come back

Secret Slice Pizza & Pasta - NSW

Joshua Jihun Kim The best pizza place! I’ve ordered from here several times already, and it’s been delicious every single time. If you’re into dipping sauces, I highly recommend trying them. My favourites are the barbecue sauce and the tzatziki.

Sizzling Pizza & Kebab - NSW

Jee won Song Usually a take away pizza shop but man oh man. Their spicy pork rib. Delicious! Also their seafood pizza is where it’s at! We order from here once a week and will never get sick of it. Hands down, tastiest crust and most perfect amount of filling in West Ryde. Love it! And the owner is so funny. Good man.

Wok Master West Ryde - NSW

Belle I’ve only ever had positive experiences at Wok Master West Ryde, and if I lived in this part of Sydney, I would most certainly be a regular. On the occasions I’ve eaten here or purchased takeaway, I’ve found the serving sizes to be generous (see attached photos) and the service to be warm and friendly (particularly from the man at the counter today after 4pm - sorry I didn’t catch his name but he is part of their core staff). I can recommend the duck and the soy chicken takeaway boxes (pictured). For a la carte, I recommend the combination chow mein and the combination beancurd hotpot, both of which had generous portions of meat/protein. This place has more of a food court vibe. It has a bain-marie/hot food display cabinet, and a handful of tables abutting the shop front but situated in a high foot traffic area. As long as you don’t come here expecting a fancy restaurant where you’ll be waited on, then you’ll be fine. I will be back!

Manouch At Marsdens - NSW

Suzanne Ive been popping into Manouch at Marsdens for over a decade - the simple zaatar one is heaven to me, but I pick up meat for friends and family too. Run by a great family, really friendly. The guy remembers every customer like you visit daily, even if you only pop in a couple times a year. Always fresh, straight out the big ovens. I Aussie-ify mine by stuffing it with fresh avo, tomato and hommus at home. Definitely recommend manouch over pizza, any day of the week.

Pho Co Eastwood - NSW

James Delicious, pho tai (raw beef) with slightly smokey spiced broth flavour adds a lot of character to this classic vietnamese street food staple. Very much a hidden gem, service is friendly and courteous. We were promptly served and enjoyed the cosy warm atmosphere. A must try if you’re in the area!
