Bidjigal Reserve - (NSW)

4 /5 Naikia Peters-Veteha: I absolutely love this place, I recommend it to everyone. The only thing is that there is rubbish everywhere, no one really stops to pick any up, I spend an extra 30min-1hour just picking up all the rubbish on my way through. The overflow from storm drains and flooding has dragged rubbish all through, from covid test kits, childrens balls, packets, and drink bottles. It can be really disappointing. Also next to no fish, theres a few fancy guppies (not native) and a few gudgeons but not much else fish wise, makes me wonder what the platypus are eating? But, apart from that, its stunning. A really lovely walk.

5 /5 Nathan Jones: Nice little green strip in the back of the hills. Great variety of plants and animals. Can feel like you arent even in the city at points - good way to take a local nature break. Nice series of pools and mini falls along Excelsior creek - great for sitting at and enjoying the serenity. Mostly well marked trails. Easy to follow. Platypus (blue) trail is pretty low intensity - couple of hills, but nothing crazy steep or difficult to get over. Maybe some loose stones, or the odd tree root. Suitable for nearly all ages/abilities. Yellow and red trails are longer, with one or two points that require a bit of rock scrambling/creek crossing. Maybe not suitable for those with mobility issues, but accessible to most.

5 /5 Elena Arena: Bidjigal Reserve is wonderful with 3 main trails well kept and marked. The north side of the Burraga Track has some parts next to houses, not that interesting. So, when you complete the Platypus Track, I suggest going back on the East side of Burraga Track to the intersection with the Murri-Yanna track and then stay on this trail to the Blue Gum trail.

4 /5 Padmaja Bysani: Great to go on a nature trail with family. The path is mostly plain with little trek involved… kids had a great time walking through the paths checking out the flora around. Handy hint - good to leave some clues to trace the way back. We went into the reserve from the last picnic area near tennis courts. This entrance is close to Ted Harwood oval.

5 /5 Nikita Plumridge: Was great. Easy walk that we could take slowly. My 4 boys (6yrs -2yrs) walked the whole thing. A few stairs here and there can be hard for anyone who has trouble with stairs but a good beautiful walk
