2 /5 I A: I’ve tried to like this salon after several recommendations from coworkers, but unfortunately, it hasn’t lived up to the hype. My first visit left me with bleeding cuticles, and on another occasion, they tried to rip off my acrylics without soaking them—when I politely requested soaking, I was met with eye rolls and scoffs. The quality of the acrylics is also inconsistent—mine have often been bumpy. While Mei is lovely and makes the experience a bit more bearable with her great customer service and conversation, the rest of the staff seems unhappy to be there, which creates an unpleasant atmosphere. Another downside is their limited business hours. Most people finish work at 5, so it’s really hard to book multiple services in one appointment without rushing. I really wanted to like this place, but the issues keep adding up.

5 /5 Valarie: Valentine’s Day - February 14, 2025. Trains are not running on time but we still kept our nail appointments. Taxi to and from was more than the cost of getting our nails done at Island Sea. That’s how much we love getting our nails done here! Mai & Tina are our favourite techs. Both deliver meticulous work but Mai is my absolute favourite, she is also my sounding board. We highly recommend Island Sea to all our friends!

4 /5 Sally C: Tina did an excellent job with my manicure and I look forward to booking with her again. I had a pedicure with a separate nail tech who was not as caring and rushed through without much attention to detail and one of the nails was a distinctly different colour because the polish was not evenly distributed between toes; luckily Tina fixed this up for me later without any issue. I do think the hygiene of the place could do with an uplift, the LED lamps felt grimy inside and the utensils didnt seem like they were getting washed in between customers.

5 /5 Katy H.: Kylie did my pedicure and manicure and was very polite, friendly. Extremely professional and I’m happy with the results. Will return when I am in Sydney. Unfortunately when I revisited it had a bad experience here with a different staff member. Absolutely ruined my nails, cut both my large toe nails in 3 places and I left with them damaged, she used the buffer incorrectly and left my toes and finger nails uneven. I barely get my nails done ever in my life but even I know how to appropriately use this piece of equipment. Be careful what staff member you ask for.
