Maddens Falls - Darkes Forest (NSW)

1 /5 Omar Saboune: I am doing you a favour don’t waste your time! I went today firstly it’s hard to find the entrance secondly it’s an annoying wall to the observation deck where you can literally see nothing that’s worth the walk, the drive and the effort. Little water because of the hidden dam and dirty brown and warm water. It looked nice in the photos but nah. No place to sit no place do anything 0/10

5 /5 christine albantow: Sloped uneven start to the walk, not suitable for wheelchairs. Wet path, mostly covered by grated board walk. Enjoyable walk with lots of frogs chatting, lots of wild flowers, scribbly gums and banksias. Good flow to the falls the day I went.

1 /5 L. WD: Got there only to see signage that it was closed for shooting (aerial shooting of feral animals). Would have been great if the info was on the NPWS app to save us the trip. Popped into the Apple Cider place across the road instead and spent $50 on two sandwiches and two coffees. Shooting ends at end of May according to signage, in case youre heading out.

5 /5 Ryan McCue: Good boardwalk and relatively easy 5 minute walk to the falls. Great to explore the other side when it’s a trickle. These photos were after significant rain. You’ll need good shoes as part of the path has gotten boggy.

4 /5 Shally Konjo: Smallish waterfall with a fenced lookout point. Although people have gone to the creek (Maddens Creek) and Waterfall itself to walk around. The angle from the lookout point does provide a good view, but it gets blocked by some bushes at certain points. There is a trail thats been done to get to the Falls as it does get wet in the area near the Falls. Its an easy track to walk on and not very far from the parking area, which is opposite to a farm that is open to the public for fruit picking call Glenbernie Orchard (The Appleshack). You can get some locally made products there too.
