1 /5 Christopher Z.: I had a deeply disappointing experience with a particular hairdresser at this place—a man with a heavy accent who said he used to work in Japan. I showed him a photo of the haircut I wanted, which featured a Caucasian model. It’s a style I’ve had many times before without any problems.
He looked at the photo and said, “You’re Asian, you should show me an Asian haircut.” I was taken aback. That kind of comment isn’t just unprofessional—it’s inappropriate and borderline discriminatory. Whether it was due to a language barrier or not, it was an offensive thing to say to a customer.
Despite my clear request, he gave me a haircut completely different from the photo—very short fade on the sides and a trendy style that doesn’t suit me at all. Then, after finishing, he repeated, “Next time, show me an Asian haircut,” doubling down on what he said earlier.
I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and uncomfortable. Haircuts should be about face shape, communication, and style—not about race. I won’t be returning and would caution others to be careful who they book with.
