The Big Cherries - NSW

Divesh The Young Cherries sculpture is located right outside the train station and young information centre. It was erected by the Young Shire Council to commemorate the cherry growers in the region. Its a great tourist attraction as there is a dedicated parking area, a little park with benches to relax. The shopping centre is right in front of the monument too.

Diamond Head Loop walk - NSW

Genevieve dZ This was my favourite walk, coastal with a bit of bushland so fit it into your plans! I went during a weekday so I only saw about 2 other hikers which made it even more serene, the walk itself wasn’t tough and you can’t get lost on the track :) almost got lost on the way to the entry though as accidentally turned into the camp site, the camp site has direct access to the beach if you want to go for a swim afterwards though!

Cabbage Tree Basin Lookout - NSW

David Doherty Very nice and peaceful view of the Basin. There is a small walking trail to get to the top of the rocks for the view. Along the way there are a few nice fishing spots with plenty of fish. I walked from Bonnie Vale Campground and it was about a 1.4km. At low tide you can walk most of it through the water.

Tacking Point Lighthouse - NSW

Ngoc Chau Tran Great to visit day or night time. Lots of things to do in the morning around the lighthouse, including the coastal walk to town. Stargazing at night time on a clear night and see how the lighthouse works. Spoiler alert: you might be able to see twin brother of Milky way.

The Coast track - NSW

Dan B Very very long. Very very exposed. Very Very hot and potentially very windy. You are right on top of the cliffs and in the coastal heath. There is nowhere to hide. Be aware of thunderstorms as that could get a bit funky if u are up there. For the inexperienced , majority of the track is on a raised path so really makes it easy. Just long. On a 28c day I consumed 8 litres of water from the time I arrived at Cronulla station and the time I arrived back at town hall. I ate 4000 calories of food. I crammed food in the am (big protein / carb early breakfast then huge bowl of musli and yogurt at trail head) to keep a head of the energy requirements however I was still running on empty when ascending to oxford. Amazing walk. like actually top top walk. This is a must do. Around every headland another amazing view. Swam naked at garrie. Saw only a few people, no thru hikers. Just a few out and back day trippers. was on the ferry at 830 am and back at town hall at 7pm. And saw snakes. One big python. A grass snake (or baby brown) and a tiger. Saw a large school of fish. Saw eagles. Very doable even for people of average fitness.
