3 /5 Jace Yan: Canton Cafe 煮意 is not my personal favourite in Eastwood, but it’s undeniably one of the most popular restaurants in town. Its prime location—right next to the railway station and beside the mall where locals gather daily for dancing and recreation—makes it a convenient choice, especially during festival seasons.
The restaurant offers a special set menu for three meals daily, particularly on weekdays. If you don’t want to pay the higher prices for yum cha dim sum, the set menu is a good option, as it includes complimentary small side dishes with your mains.
Service can feel rushed and not particularly friendly, but that’s largely due to how busy the restaurant is. It’s often full house, so reservations are essential if you plan to dine here on weekends.
The food itself is delicious and affordable. While it’s not high-end dining, you’ll likely be satisfied with the value for what you pay.
