Little Marley Track - Royal Natl Park (NSW)

5 /5 Anne-Marie Torrens: A sunny Sunday meant it was a good day for a walk. We travelled to Wattamolla Beach in The Royal National Park intending to walk to Little Marley Beach along the Coastal Track. The road to the car park at Wattamolla was closed as the car park was full. We were asked to wait about 10 minutes at which point the gate would open and 35 cars would be permitted to enter. We eventually paid our $12 to enter the National Park, found a spot for the car and headed off. So many beautiful spots along the way. So pleased we waited the 10 minutes or so to get in. Path well sign posted. Track is over rocks as well as elevated path. So lovely to sit for a little rest at Little Marley Beach before the walk back. About 8 km in total, and taking about 2 hours walking time.

5 /5 alexandra kas: This walk was really interesting and quiet! Things to note: 1. Adequate sun protection is necessary. The first hour of the walk is on a fire trail from Bundeena drive with short shrubs and no tree coverage. The path is often very quiet and no opportunity to get drinking water. Bring enough water for 4 hours of walking. 2. Best done in winter where the sun provides warmth. This walk in summer may become very hot due to poor tree coverage, high ground cover and nowhere to refill. 3. After the first hour, there is a fork in the road that is the juncture of a loop track to access Little Marley beach. - North path takes you past a track to Deer pool which is a highlight! Only 15 minute wet scramble to the pool. A great spot to cool off. Best not to swim in the pool as there isn’t a clear way out due to a large platform at the waterfall. Also avoid directly after rain due to difficult path. Return to the turnoff and continue down the track to North if Little Marley beach (only another 30-45 mins). - South path loops towards the cliff walk before cutting north towards the South part of Little Marley beach. This walk is great to be alone with your own thoughts. Deer pool offers a peaceful sanctuary from the glaring sun and whale watching on the ocean path is just divine.

5 /5 Kyaw M: The 14 km loop around Little Marley Track can be done within 2.5 to 3 hrs if you don’t stop and take a swim at the beach. The first and last 3 kms section of the track is the fire trail. While it might be a boring part of the loop, the track is easy and wide. The car park can be tricky as there is no ‘proper’ parking like Marley Track. Nonetheless, there are ~ 7 spaces just outside the gate.

4 /5 nat ber: We chose to do this walk as we wanted to reach Little Marley beach but Wattamolla road and surroundings were closed off due to recent floods. Track is along firetrail almost 6km to reach the beach. It took us about 2 hrs to get there. We were bit disappointed that we couldn’t have a swim as water was full of sea weeds and murky due to recent heavy rains. Still, we have enjoyed this walk just because it was sunny 23 degrees day . It must be challenging to do it on a hot summer day. Wear proper walking shoes as track is gravel and stones. On our way back we came across amazing rock plateau.

5 /5 Sam Elliott: Nice track coming down from Bundeena Drive to the coast. Fire trail between the road and the inland loop. Mostly in good condition, drainage isnt the best so there are a few fairly large puddles in places. Mostly a steady incline, a bit steep in a few places towards the road. Coast Track is easy to walk and is a walkway for most of that section.
