Steamup Cantonese Restaurant Jusco Branch - NSW

Jason Trieu I see some early reviews saying this is plain but I disagree. Rather this is pretty spot on of home cooking style for Cantonese dishes which emphasises on fresh ingredients and natural flavours. If you want more salt you can add via DIY sauce station which they have a wide variety. The claypot rice is a much try , really underrated for a place that has a focus on steam dishes. Salted chicken is also a must try at this place. Im still working my way through the menu but havent had a bad dish so far. Atmosphere feels like a family run business with a polite auntie serving customers. May be a bit slower but I rather authentic polite service then rude rushed service. Will be back for more. Give it a go!

CokCo Chicken Eastwood - NSW

Seulki Chung Went here yesterday for dinner and really enjoyed it! I’ve tried heaps of Korean fried chicken spots around Sydney (and in Korea as well), and this one stood out. We got the spicy and soy garlic boneless fried chicken — both were perfectly juicy inside with a super crispy coating, topped with a sticky, gooey sauce that was sweet and well balanced. We also ordered the tuna mayo rice ball and the spicy chicken cheese hotplate, which were pretty decent. The pickled radish and cabbage mayo salad were standard sides you’d expect at a Korean chicken place. Overall, great food and flavours — I’d definitely come back!

Eastwood Hotel - NSW

Kolja Mezulat Had a drink at the Hotel but then decided to get food there too. Expected the classic pubfood but what I got instead blew my mind. The place is famous for its chilli chicken. I looked at the menu for a while but then decided to get the Cheese Chilli BBQ chicken. As I got up to the counter to order this guy was very pleased that I chose that particular item as he then proceeded to show me all of his awards he’s won for it. Served with an elite bowl of rice with dried algae and bits of chicken the chilli chicken blew my mind. It was quite spicy and so the chef gave me more of his fabulous rice. With no charge. He was funny and engaged with his customers. He looked like he loves what he is doing and it shows; changes the atmosphere. I definitely recommend it to anyone who gets a chance to go to Sydney. The trip from downtown is definitely worth for what you get!

Miss Yue Restaurant Epping - NSW

A. L We’re not local to the area but we are aleays happy to make the trip here whenever we feel like yum cha because the food and service have always been great in our experience. The dishes are traditional, freshly made and well presented with reasonable for the quality being served. It’s a great spot to come with friends or family. We’ve been here quite a few times and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. The manager has also been polite and good-humoured when chatting with us and with families kids. There’s parking nearby and we actually find it easier since getting an Epping Club membership - you can park in the basement for free and just take the lift straight up to the restaurant. We’ll definitely keep coming back as our go-to yum cha place among the nearby suburbs.
